Child critically injured in tragic car crash in Armenia dies in hospital
A child critically injured in a tragic road accident in Armenia’s Kotayk Province in late May died in the hospital on Monday.
After the accident, he was taken to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center where he underwent surgery and cardiopulmonary resuscitation twice. He was later transferred to the Holy Mother of God Medical Center. The child was on life support in coma, the hospital said.
The deadly accident occurred on the road linking Artashat to Garni on 27 May and involved VAZ 2106 and Volkswagen ID.4 cars. The 38-year-old driver of VAZ 2106 was killed in the crash, while its six passengers, including five children, and the Volkswagen driver were hospitalized with injuries. Four of the minors were critically injured in the wake of the crash. One of them died in the hospital on June 1.
The children were wrestlers who were travelling to Garni together with their two coaches for competitions.
