Situation on Armenian-Azeri border relatively stable, says deputy minister
The situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable, Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan said on Wednesday.
“The situation is relatively stable. Shots were fired yesterday and we issued a statement on it. In case of intense shootings, we respond immediately,” Sargsyan told reporters.
The deputy minister refused to comment on the Syunik governor's claims about the advance of Azeri forces towards the border villages of Tegh and Nerkin Hand.
He also did not answer a question about the two Armenian servicemen kidnapped by Azerbaijani troops in May, citing an ongoing investigation into the incident.
