ICRC officials visit two Armenian soldiers held in Baku
Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited two Armenian servicemen held in Azerbaijan.
“ICRC officers held private meetings with them and helped them establish contact with their families through letters,” ICRC Armenia Office Communications Program Manager Zara Amatuni told Panorama.am on Thursday.
The Armenian soldiers were captured by Azerbaijani forces in a cross-border incursion on May 26.
The servicemen, identified as Harutyun Hovagimyan and Karen Ghazaryan, were ambushed and kidnapped after delivering provisions to an Armenian army outpost, the Armenian Defense Ministry said.
