Azerbaijan violates ceasefire in Artsakh, targets farmers
Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Wednesday, targeting a group of farmers in the villages of Machkalashen and Chartar.
In a statement on Thursday, the Artsakh Defense Ministry said Azerbaijani troops breached the ceasefire in the northern, eastern and southwestern sections of the contact line, using small arms.
“Between 9:15am and 11:14am, Azerbaijani forces opened fire from small arms on civilians doing agricultural work in the Machkalashen and Chartar communities,” it said.
No casualties were reported. The command of the Russian peacekeeping troops was alerted about the incident.
“As of 9:30am June 15, the situation on the contact line is relatively stable,” the statement said.
