Artsakh blockade raised at CEC General Assembly
The Conference of European Churches (CEC) opened its General Assembly in Tallinn, Estonia, on 14 June, exploring the theme Under God's Blessing – Shaping the Future.”
The General Assembly is hosted by the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran and Estonian Orthodox Churches.
The event unites representatives of CEC member churches, partner organizations and national councils of European Churches. It takes place every five years with the mission of making decisions about the future plans of the Conference of European Churches. During the Assembly, new members of the council will also be elected, who will lead the CEC mission for the next five years, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported.
With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is represented at the CEC General Assembly by His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland; His Grace Bishop Vardan Navasardyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of the Baltic States and Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Garegn Hambardzumyan, Director of the Mission Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Fr. Garegn Hambardzumyan spoke about Azerbaijan’s blockade of Artsakh and the humanitarian crisis caused by it at the CEC General Assembly, the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church said.
