Armenian parliament committee OKs simplified travel with Georgia
The Armenian parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations on Monday unanimously approved the simplified travel agreement between Armenia and Georgia. Two MPs from the main opposition Hayastan faction, who attended the committee meeting, also voted for the agreement.
The agreement to further simplify the existing visa-free travel between the two countries was signed in early 2023.
It would allow Armenian and Georgian nationals to enter the two countries using ID cards.
The Georgian parliament has already ratified the document which will take effect in early July, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said.
The Armenian government endorsed the agreement on 12 January.
