Artsakh official debunks Azerbaijan's lies over blockade
The Artsakh state minister’s advisor, Artak Beglaryan, has exposed Azerbaijan’s lies about free movement along the Lachin Corridor, the sole road linking Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia.
He shared photos of Azerbaijani armored vehicles blocking the entrance to the Lachin Corridor near the Azeri checkpoint installed on the road in late April, five months after effectively closing the road. Azerbaijan has completely blocked relief supplies to and medical evacuations from Artsakh since June 15.
“The images show the Azerbaijani armored vehicles have blocked the only Artsakh-Armenia road near its illegal checkpoint. Is this their guarantee for “free movement” when they are lying to the whole world, falsely claiming that there is no blockade?” Beglaryan wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
He called on the international community to take action to prevent an impending disaster in Artsakh.
“We expect urgent and practical steps from Armenia, Russia, the U.S., France, the EU, UN and all other actors, as well as major pressure on everyone from the Diaspora Armenians,” the official added.
