Serzh Sargsyan's office responds to Pashinyan's claims about 2020 war
The office of Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan has responded to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s latest statements defended his handling of the 2020 Artsakh war.
Testifying before the parliamentary commission probing the war on Tuesday, Pashinyan accused Sargsyan and his team of allowing Azerbaijan to better prepare for the war.
In a statement on Wednesday, Sargsyan’s office called the commission meeting a “show”, saying that Pashinyan's remarks resembled a “rehearsal of a defense speech by a man accused of betraying his country and people”.
"The desperate efforts of a man accused of treason do not stand up to criticism. The deliberate distortion of the facts in order to justify his policy of destroying the Armenian statehood adds to the gravity of the crime,” it added.
