Armen Ashotyan's defense team hasn't received court order for his arrest
Tigran Atanesyan, the lawyer of opposition politician Armen Ashotyan, claims the defense team has not received a copy of the court order for his pre-trial detention to date.
Ashotyan, deputy head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was arrested on 16 June on charges of abuse of power and money laundering strongly denied by him as politically motivated.
"I would like to inform you that so far the defense team has not received the court ruling on Armen Ashotyan's arrest,” Atanesyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“Under the law, the ruling must have been provided within three hours after its delivery, but 145 hours have now passed,” he stated.
