Pashinyan's spox denies claims contacts with Artsakh officials have been cut off
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, has denied reports that Armenian officials have cut off all contacts with Artsakh’s authorities.
Earlier, Hetq editor-in-chief Edik Baghdasaryan claimed Armenian officials declined the phone calls from their colleagues in Artsakh.
The reports also allege that the Armenian government no longer deals with the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
In a statement on Monday, Pashinyan's spokesperson highlighted daily contacts between the Armenian premier and Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan repeatedly announced by Pashinyan and publically confirmed by Harutyunyan.
“We would like to remind you once again that in late 2022 a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan was set up to manage the humanitarian crisis in the wake of the Lachin Corridor blockade and to support the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The group has been tasked with monitoring humanitarian issues with the Nagorno-Karabakh’s authorities and to provide necessary urgent assistance, including with the help of international organizations,” Baghdasaryan said.
“The working group includes the Ministers of Health, Labor and Social Affairs, Economy, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, as well as officials from other government agencies,” she added.
