Yerevan mayor has new spokesman
Hayk Kostanyan has been installed as spokesperson of the Yerevan mayor.
"I am pleased to announce that Hayk Kostanyan has been appointed the Yerevan mayor’s spokesman,” the Yerevan Municipality spokesman, Levon Sardaryan, wrote on Facebook on Monday.
Kostanyan previously served as spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergencies which was abolished last week.
In comments below Sardaryan’s post, many users highlight that the Armenian capital has had no mayor since Hrachya Sargyian stepped down on March 17. One of the deputy Yerevan mayors, Tigran Avinyan, is the ruling Civil Contract party’s candidate for the municipal elections slated for this fall.
