Azerbaijan preparing the ground for fresh attack on Artsakh, MP warns
Azerbaijan has launched a major propaganda campaign for a fresh aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan warns.
The deputy claims Azerbaijan may be planning limited military operations against Artsakh, including possible strikes on Artsakh’s military facilities and attempts to gain control over some of its strategic heights.
“Azerbaijan is waiting for the crisis caused by the Artsakh blockade to reach its peak, at the same time trying to accurately assess the possible international consequences of its actions,” Abrahamyan, the secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, wrote on Facebook on Monday.
He believes Baku may conduct major operations in case of having tacit approval from major international actors or ignoring their possible reaction.
“It makes no sense to discuss the possible role of the impotent Armenian government,” Abrahamyan added.
