Hayakve initiative to continue signature collection from Thursday
The Hayakve ballot initiative will continue the collection of signatures in support of Artsakh from Thursday, July 6, the group said in a statement.
Under Armenian law, a signature collection is carried out only on working days, from 9am to 6pm.
July 5 celebrated as Constitution Day in Armenia is a non-working day.
The Hayakve initiative started last week collecting signatures in support of its amendments to Armenia’s Criminal Code which would make the surrender of Artsakh to Azerbaijan and the renunciation of the Armenian Genocide recognition campaign crimes punishable by between 10 and 15 years in jail.
The group has to collect at least 50,000 signatures to push the amendments through the parliament.
