Young Armenian weightlifters win gold, bronze medals at European Championships
Young Armenian weightlifters continue their successful performances at the 2023 EWF European Youth and U15 Championships in Chisinau, Moldova, winning gold and bronze medals.
Reigning world champion Seryozha Barseghyan and Zhora Grigoryan captured gold medals after lifting a total of 278kg (131+147) and 244kg (109+135), respectively, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported on Thursday.
Yughaber Amroyan took the bronze in the 40kg category with a total lift of 87kg (40+47).
Earlier, Karlen Davtyan won the 49kg bronze at the European Championships.
The Armenian men’s team also includes Volodya Sargsyan (49kg), Samvel Martirosyan (61kg), Hovhannes Ghahramanyan (81kg), Narek Mkrtchyan (81kg), Valerik Movsisyan (89kg), Ashot Margaryan (96kg), Rustam Sardaryan (102kg) and Gagik Mkrtchyan (+102kg).
