Activist calls for popular support to oust Pashinyan, his team
Political activist Edgar Ghazaryan calls for greater popular support for his campaign aimed at ousting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his team.
Ghazaryan and his supporters started a protest outside the Armenian Presidential Palace in central Yerevan which temporarily houses the prime minister’s office late on July 5 celebrated as Constitution Day in Armenia. The demonstration is part of his Revolution of Dignity campaign.
Speaking to Panorama.am on Thursday, Ghazaryan accused the current leadership of violating Armenia’s Constitution, disparaging its state symbols and acting against the country’s interests.
He unveiled plans to set up “checkpoints” near the Presidential Palace to oversee the entry and exit of officials there, including the premier.
He stressed broad popular support was needed to continue the protest.
“In case of adequate support, we will continue the protest. Otherwise, we will end it at this point and decide on our further steps,” the activist said.
