Armenia has no troops in Nagorno-Karabakh, Pashinyan reiterates
Armenia has no troops in the territory of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated on Thursday, rejecting Azerbaijan’s false accusations.
"Azerbaijan continues unfounded accusations against Armenia, demanding the withdrawal of Armenian army units from Nagorno-Karabakh, despite the fact that Armenia has no servicemen in Nagorno-Karabakh," he told a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
According to him, only the Defense Army of Artsakh is operating there.
“The only reason for its operation is the daily Azerbaijani propaganda and actions aimed at subjecting the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing and genocide,” Pashinyan stated.
He recalled that Baku had blocked the deliveries of goods to Artsakh carried out by Russian peacekeepers since 15 June. Azerbaijan has also cut off gas and electricity supplies to Artsakh for several months now.
