Humanitarian situation in Artsakh dramatically worsening, MP warns
The humanitarian situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is worsening dramatically amid Azerbaijan’s efforts to legitimize its months-long blockade of Artsakh, Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan warns.
Baku banned medical evacuations from Artsakh carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Tuesday, tightening the blockade which started back in December last year.
In a social media post on Thursday, Abrahamyan accused the international community of making insufficient efforts to break the Artsakh blockade, stressing the calls of international organizations "have failed to deter Azerbaijan".
“The mediators either turn a blind eye to the unfolding catastrophe in Artsakh or contribute to the efforts to make it part of Azerbaijan,” the MP wrote.
“Meanwhile, the crisis is getting new manifestations in Artsakh. Only the Artsakh people know what they are going through now,” Abrahamyan added.
