Protesters urge Putin to break Artsakh blockade
Displaced Artsakh residents urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to break Azerbaijan’s brutal blockade of Artsakh at a protest outside the Russian Embassy in Yerevan on Monday.
The people of Artsakh have been living under Azerbaijan's unlawful blockade for seven months now.
On July 11, Azerbaijan completely blocked humanitarian traffic through the Lachin Corridor, Artsakh's sole land link with Armenia, further exacerbating the worsening humanitarian situation in Artsakh.
The protesters warned that 30,000 children in Artsakh were suffering from malnutrition.
“Putin, keep your word, we believed you!” said Mariam Avagyan, coordinator of the Congress of Refugees from the Azerbaijani SSR, reading out her appeal to the Russian leadership.
