Artsakh denies delivery of humanitarian aid through Askeran
Artsakh’s authorities have rejected social media reports suggesting that ICRC employees, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, are transporting humanitarian cargo from Akna (Aghdam) through Askeran.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Artsakh Interior Ministry assured that no vehicle had crossed the Askeran police checkpoint to Akna and in the opposite direction.
“We call on everyone not to give in to unverified reports and refrain from divisive and slanderous actions,” the ministry said.
It added that officers of the Askeran police department are on duty around-the-clock at the checkpoint, constantly monitoring the traffic through Aserkan and nearby settlements.
