Missing soldiers’ families block mayor Yerevan road
Parents of Armenian soldiers missing in action in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in 2021 blocked Baghramyan Avenue near the Presidential Palace in central Yerevan on Wednesday afternoon, demanding information about their children's whereabouts.
They protested outside the Presidential Palace which temporarily houses the Armenian prime minister’s office for two hours earlier on Wednesday, waiting for a meeting with PM Nikol Pashinyan, but received no response before deciding to close off the major road.
The parents claim their sons are alive and demand that the Armenian government take action to find out their whereabouts and repatriate them.
They aggressed to reopen the avenue an hour later after the prime minister’s office promised to arrange a meeting between them and Pashinyan within a week.
