Ruben Vardanyan welcomes Artsakh parliament statement
Artsakh’s former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan has welcomed the Artsakh parliament statement on the crisis in the blockade-hit country.
The statement adopted on Friday urges Armenia to take immediate measures to endow the peacekeeping mission stationed in the Artsakh with an international mandate and calls on the UN Security Council to take effective measures to establish peace in Artsakh.
“We expect that the targeted statements will be supported by the following steps:
- demanding that the Armenian authorities provide the entire package of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan discussed in the past five years;
- excluding the signing of any document on behalf of the Artsakh Republic without the consent of its people;
- clarifying the current state of relations with the Republic of Armenia;
- specifying the issues related to the Artsakh-Azerbaijan negotiation format, third party, participants, agenda and venue of talks;
- officially expressing the Artsakh government’s support for the Hayakve initiative;
- demanding the signing of a new trilateral agreement between Artsakh, Russia and Azerbaijan;
- stepping up the process of Artsakh’s recognition by other countries;
- excluding the steps contributing to the decline in public sentiments, keeping alive the spirit of the popular struggle,” Vardanyan wrote on Facebook on Friday.
