11 killed in tragic car crash in Armenia
11 people have been killed in a horrific road traffic accident in Armenia, the Rescue Service reports.
The accident, which involved a van and a truck, occurred on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway in the early hours of Monday.
A Volkswagen passenger van and a ZIL truck collided near the village of Lanjik in Armenia’s Shirak Province at around 12:30 a.m., leaving 11 dead and 9 others injured, including the truck driver.
Six crash victims were taken to the Gyumri Medical Center. One of them was later moved to the Erebuni Medical Center in Yerevan.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
