Azeri forces fire at EU monitors in Armenia
Azerbaijani troops opened fire on EU monitors patrolling alongside the Armenian-Azerbaijani border area on Tuesday afternoon, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
“On August 15, at around 12:20 p.m., Azerbaijani army units discharged fire from small arms targeting the EU observers patrolling in the vicinity of Verin Shorzha and their vehicle,” the ministry said in a statement, adding there are no casualties.
Earlier on Monday, the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) said it had observed no “unusual military movement or buildup” along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border after Baku falsely accused Yerevan of stockpiling military equipment and troops there.
