EU monitors in Armenia deny reports of shooting
The European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) has denied the reports that its patrols have been the target of Azerbaijani shooting.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said in a statement that EU monitors patrolling alongside the Armenian-Azerbaijani border area came under fire from Azerbaijani positions near the village of Verin Shorzha at around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday.
“No EUMA patrol has been the target of shooting,” the mission said in a post on X (Twitter).
“We patrol alongside the Armenian-Azerbaijani border area and report too Brussels on military developments, including shooting incidents in our area of responsibility,” the EUMA added.
