UN Security Council holds emergency meeting on blockade-hit Artsakh
The UN Security Council has started an emergency meeting to discuss the worsening humanitarian situation in blockade-struck Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
On August 11, Armenia appealed to the United Nations Security Council with a request to convene an emergency meeting regarding the deterioration of the humanitarian situation as a result of the total blockade inflicted upon the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan.
Armenia’s ambassador to the UN, Mher Margaryan, last week wrote to the UN Security Council to warn that Nagorno-Karabakh “is on the verge of a full-fledged humanitarian catastrophe.
