Youth Chess Olympiad: Armenia come in third after 8 rounds
At the FIDE World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad, the Armenian team finished the matches with the teams of China and Azerbaijan with a score of 2-2 on Thursday, the Armenian Chess Federation said.
The Armenian team took the 3rd place after the 8th round. China is the leader of the Chess Olympiad, while Turkey comes in second.
There is one round left before the end of the Olympiad. Armenia's opponent is Kazakhstan's first team in the ultimate round on Friday.
The World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad is being held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, from August 12-19.
