Pashinyan says Azerbaijan plans to reopen Lachin Corridor only in one direction
The humanitarian situation in blockade-hit Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) remains tense, Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting, the Armenian premier said only some movement of patients and other persons through the Lachin Corridor, Artsakh’s sole land link with Armenia, has been resumed by the Red Cross and Russian peacekeepers.
At the same time, he said Azerbaijan is planning to reopen the Lachin Corridor only in one direction.
“According to credible information, there are plans to unilaterally open the Lachin Corridor, that is to allow only exit from Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan said.
He underscored that numerous residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have been stranded in Armenia due to Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor since December last year.
