Russian diplomat denied entry to Armenia
Armenia’s government has banned Viktor Krivopuskov, Chairman of the Russian Society of Friendship and Cooperation with Armenia, from entering the country.
He was told to return to Moscow after arriving at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport early on Thursday morning.
The diplomat told TASS that Zvartnots immigration officers took away his passport, explaining that he had been declared a “persona non grata” in Armenia.
"No official paper was shown to me. They told me to return to Moscow today," he said.
From 2009 to 2013, Krivopuskov was the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Armenia.
Russian lawmaker Konstantin Zatulin, RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and media manager Aram Gabrelyanov were earlier banned from Armenia.
