Armenian singer Hayko would have turned 50 today
August 25 is the birthday anniversary of late Armenian singer, songwriter and composer Hayko (Hayk Hakobyan), who died of Covid-19 in 2021. The musician would have turned 50 today.
Yerevan’s Opera Theater will host a symphonic concert to mark Hayko’s 50th birthday anniversary tonght. The concert will be performed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
The singer’s friends say Hayko dreamed of performing with a symphonic orchestra, saying this concert would have been a “dream come true” for him.
The concert has been organized by the Hayko Hakobyan foundation, which aims to save and popularize his musical heritage.
Birthday tributes have poured in on social media for the late singer since Friday morning. Hayko’s friends described him as a "talented musician and a special man with a heart of gold".
The singer’s mother posted a photo with him on social media, writing: “Happy heavenly birthday! I miss you beyond words.”
