Man dies in hospital one week after tragic car crash in Armenia
A critically-injured young man has died in hospital nearly one week after a deadly car crash in Armenia, the health authorities said on Friday.
The head-on collision of a minibus and a lorry on the Yerevan–Gyumri highway early on 14 August left 11 people dead and nine others injured.
The lorry driver and five other minibus passengers were hospitalized in Yerevan and Gyumri in the wake of the crash. One of them was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
The other victims are said to be in grave or moderate condition.
“Unfortunately, doctors could not save the crash victim who was in critical condition,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal probe into the accident.
