Senator Cassidy accuses Azerbaijan of crime against humanity in Nagorno-Karabakh
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has accused Azerbaijan of committing a crime against humanity in blockaded Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
“The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is growing more and more dire by the day. If Azerbaijan doesn’t lift the blockade people will starve,” he warned in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
“Weaponizing food constitutes an Article 7 Violation of the Rome Statutes, a ‘Crime against Humanity’,” the senator added.
The people of Artsakh have been living under Azerbaijan's unlawful blockade for over eight months now.
