Senator Menendez slams Baku's 'outrageous behavior' after kidnapping of three Armenians
U.S. Senator Robert Menendez has called out Azerbaijan for its “outrageous behavior” after three Artsakh Armenians were kidnapped by Azeri security guards in the Lachin Corridor on Monday.
"Deeply troubled that Azerbaijan continues its outrageous behavior aimed at intimidating Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, withholding humanitarian access, and undermining the critical work of the ICRC. This is unacceptable," Menendez, Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Artsakh officials said that the three young men, identified as Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan and Levon Grigoryan, were kidnapped at the illegal Azerbaijani checkpoint blocking the corridor as they were escorted by Russian peacekeepers.
