Armenia seeks ECHR interim measure against Baku over kidnapped Artsakh civillians
Armenia has requested the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to indicate an interim measure against Azerbaijan to protect the rights of three kidnapped Artsakh civilians, the Office of Armenia’s Representative on International Legal Matters reported on Wednesday.
Artsakh officials said that the three young men, identified as Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan and Levon Grigoryan, were kidnapped at the illegal Azerbaijani checkpoint blocking the Lachin Corridor as they were travelling to Armenia in a convoy of vehicles escorted by Russian peacekeepers on Monday.
Azerbaijani authorities said late on Monday that the men were members of an Artsakh football team and were detained for “disrespecting” the Azerbaijani national flag back in 2021.
