French ambassador denies travel warning for Armenian border regions
French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies rejects media reports that his embassy has warned French citizens against travel to Armenia’s border regions, including Syunik Province and the town of Vardenis.
"FAKE NEWS - Our travel advisory for Armenia has not changed since July, 18, 2023," he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, sharing the report.
Earlier on Thursday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of preparing a fresh military provocation by massing troops and military equipment along the border with Armenia and the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) contact line.
