NSS warns against attempts to destabilize situation in Artsakh
The National Security Service (NSS) of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) warns against attempts to cause turmoil in the country amid mounting tensions in the run-up to the election of Artsakh’s new president on September 9.
In a statement on Friday, the NSS said taking advantage of the situation, some political forces “are calling for rallies and demonstrations in an effort to destabilize the situation.”
“The NSS will take all necessary measures to defend the constitutional order of the Republic of Artsakh. In the event of threats aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order, the National Security Service shall resort to decisive action,” the law enforcement agency said.
The NSS urged the political forces and individuals whose statements are aimed at leading the country to upheaval to “come to their senses and not to put the statehood at risk at this decisive moment for Artsakh.”
"We call on the Artsakh citizens not to give in to provocations, to keep calm and show high civic awareness, to respect the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Artsakh," reads the statement.
