MP warns of gradual increase in border tensions
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has raised concern over a gradual increase in tensions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
"The situation on the frontline is gradually getting more and more tense,"Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, told reporters on Monday.
He underscores that the tensions are primarily caused by the ongoing movement and concentration of Azerbaijani troops along the border with Armenia and near the Artsakh contact line, particularly in the Akna region which is adjacent to the Martuni, Askeran and Martakert regions of Artsakh.
Abrahamyan reported constant massing of Azeri artillery and missile troops in the area, adding Azerbaijan had deployed UAVs along all border sections.
"The military and political situation is assessed as quite tense, which may lead to adverse developments," the MP emphasized.
