MP brushes off claims Artsakh 'has no allies'
No Armenian government official has congratulated newly-elected Artsakh President Samvel Shahramayan, opposition MP Hayk Mamijanyan said on Tuesday.
“Among the world powers, Russia is probably the only one that has not made any negative comments on the election of President Samvel Shahramayan,” Mamijanyan, head of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, told reporters, dismissing the Armenian leadership’s claims that Artsakh “has no allies”.
“Artsakh has allies, which is evidenced by public and non-public statements,” he stressed.
Speaking about the delivery of Russian humanitarian aid to Artsakh’s capital Stepanakert, the MP said: "I call on all our citizens to wait for a while, just a few hours. I am sure everyone will understand the ongoing processes and see the results achieved by Artsakh’s new leadership.”
Mamijanyan also urged the Artsakh Armenians struggling under Azerbaijan’s blockade to “hold on before Yerevan makes a change.”
