'I’m still alive', says Artsakh man kidnapped by Azerbaijan
68-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, an Artsakh resident kidnapped by Azerbaijani forces in late July, sent a letter to his family members on August 30, his daughter Tsovinar Khachatryan told NEWS.am on Wednesday.
"He wrote, ‘Im thinking about you all the time, I am still alive, be healthy and send greetings to everyone.’ Now we know that he is taking medicine in the morning and evening. He is said to be in good health. Red Cross officials visit him once a month," the woman noted.
Vagif Khachatryan was kidnapped and arrested by Azerbaijani border guards at their illegal checkpoint in the Lachin corridor on July 29.
He was one of 15 patients being evacuated to Armenia by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
