Armenia, Iran discuss regional security
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Hosein Amir Abdollahian on Wednesday to discuss stability and security in the South Caucasus, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
Speaking about the recent developments in the region, Mirzoyan stressed the importance of the efforts and messages of the partners to prevent the escalation of the situation on the border with Armenia and return Azerbaijan to the constructive field.
“In the context of achieving lasting stability in the region, the necessity of resolving the issues of rights and security of the Nagorno-Karabakh people was also emphasized,” the ministry said in its readout of the phone call.
