Papikyan visited Yerablur on anniversary of September attack, ministry says
The Armenian Defense Ministry has dismissed the claims that Defense Minister Suren Papikyan did not visit the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan on the first anniversary of the September aggression by Azerbaijan.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said reports spread by some social media users, as well as public and political figures accused Papikyan of failure to pay homage to the fallen troops on the attack anniversary marked on September 13.
“The Armenian defense minister visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon in the early morning hours of September 13, at 8:10 a.m., to pay tribute to those killed selflessly defending Armenia’s sovereign territory on 13-14 September 2022,” it said.
The Defense Ministry also posted photos and a video of the visit.
