Upper Lars checkpoint to operate with restrictions
The Upper Lars customs checkpoint at the Russian-Georgian border will work with temporary restrictions from September 18-24, Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) said on Monday, citing the Russian government office Rosgranstroy.
The SRC said in a statement due to the asphalting of the lanes at the checkpoint, reverse traffic will be organized for trucks heading to Russia. The committee warns that this may lead to accumulation of vehicles.
The Upper Lars crossing serves as Armenia’s sole overland trade route to Russia.
