Red Cross delivers aid to Artsakh through Lachin, Akna routes
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has delivered critical humanitarian aid to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) through the Lachin corridor and the Akna (Aghdam) road, the Artsakh Info Center reported on Monday.
“Some 23 tons of Armenian-made flour were delivered to Stepanakert through the Lachin corridor, along the Goris-Stepanakert highway, following an agreement reached with the ICRC office in Stepanakert and the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, while the Akna-Stepanakert road was used for delivery of medical and hygienic items of foreign (Russian, Swiss) production, which will be handed over to the relevant agencies and used as needed after examination," the Info Center said.
ICRC vehicles are expected to bring more aid from the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don to Artsakh in a few days, it added.
