Armenia applies to ECHR after major Azeri attack on Artsakh
Armenia has asked the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to indicate interim measures against Azerbaijan following the launch of a major offensive against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Office of Armenia's Representative on International Legal Matters reported.
"The Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters has just submitted a request on applying interim measures against Azerbaijan under Rule 39 of the Rules of Court aiming to prevent massive human right violations resulting from the large-scale aggression by Azerbaijan towards the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh," the office said.
"In particular, the government has requested the UN court to oblige Azerbaijan to stop targeting all civilian settlements, objects and population," it added.
