Artsakh denies Azeri accusations of GPS jamming
The Defense Ministry of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has rejected Azerbaijan’s accusations of jamming the GPS system of a civil aircraft flying from Baku to Tbilisi on Monday evening.
“On September 19, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry disseminated the second completely false statement, claiming that on September 18, between 8:28pm and 8:34pm, the Defense Army suppressed the GPS positioning system of a civil aircraft flying on the Baku-Tbilisi route through the Artsakh airspace,” it said in a statement, stressing the plane does not cross Artsakh’s airspace.
“By regularly disseminating such false statements, Azerbaijan seeks to divert the international community’s attention from the humanitarian disaster caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and prepare the ground for fresh provocation,” the ministry added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Azerbaijan falsely accused Artsakh troops of an attempted subversive attack.
