Artsakh says heavy fighting continues along entire contact line
Heavy fighting continued along entire line of contact in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as of Tuesday evening, the country’s Defense Army reported.
“Battles continue along the entire line of contact. The Azerbaijani military is using artillery, rocket systems, combat UAVs and warplanes,” the Defense Army said, adding that it will release additional updates.
Artsakh’s health officials said 25 people, including two civilians, were killed and 128 others were hospitalized with injuries in the wake of Azeri attacks. According to Ombudsman Geghan Stepanyan, one child was among those killed and at least 12 of those injured were children.
Azerbaijan launched a large-scale offensive against Artsakh on Tuesday afternoon, targeting its military facilities and civilian settlements.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry urged Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh to intervene and stop Azerbaijan’s full-scale aggression against its Armenian population.
Azerbaijan's presidential administration said it will continue what it falsely calls its “anti-terrorist operations” in Nagorno-Karabakh “until the end” unless the Artsakh Armenians disband their government bodies and armed forces.
