Number of casualties quickly rising in Artsakh amid Azeri shelling
The number of casualties are quickly growing in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) amid the ongoing heavy shelling by the Azerbaijani military, former Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan said.
“Sounds of heavy artillery shelling are often heard from nearby Stepanakert. Azerbaijani forces continue their genocidal aggression against the Artsakh people, resulting in death and injury of a large number of persons. They have made significant advancements in some directions,” he said in a post on X on Wednesday.
“The Azerbaijani genocidal forces continue military activities and positional advancement, targeting also civilian population and objects. The numbers of deaths and injuries are quickly growing up,” the ex-ombudsman said in another post.
The Artsakh authorities says at least 27 people have been killed, including 7 civilians, and 200 wounded since Azerbaijan began its large-scale offensive early on Tuesday afternoon.
