Anti-government protesters block streets in Yerevan
Anti-government demonstrators took to the streets in Yerevan early on Friday morning for a third day to demand Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation following Artsakh’s surrender to Azerbaijan.
Small groups of protesters blocked streets across the Armenian capital, including the Myasnikyan Avenue.
Police detained Mother Armenia leader Andranik Tevanyan, one of the protest organizers, during the acts of disobedience.
The opposition announced nonstop street protests in Yerevan on Thursday in a bid to unseat Pashinyan blamed for the latest Azerbaijani military offensive against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Opposition leader also announced plans to initiate Pashinyan's impeachment in parliament.
