Doctors urge ICRC to immediately evacuate wounded Artsakh people to Armenia
Armenian medical community members on Friday gathered outside the Yerevan office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to demand that the organization evacuate inured people from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia.
According to the Artsakh Ombudsman’s Office, at least 200 people were killed and more than 400 wounded in Azerbaijani attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Protesting physicians claim some of those injured cannot be provided with proper medical care in Artsakh.
“They must be immediately transported to Armenia. There are also medical workers who are willing to travel to Artsakh,” they said, urging the ICRC not to forget its mission and not to remain indifferent.
