Armenian FM, ICRC head discuss situation in Nagorno-Karabakh
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mirjana Spoljaric Egger within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday.
They discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
“Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the imperative for addressing the humanitarian problems caused by the 9-months-long blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the large-scale attack carried out by Azerbaijan on September 19,” it said.
“In this context, ensuring humanitarian access of relevant international organizations to Nagorno-Karabakh and in particular the unhindered operation of the ICRC, including through unimpeded movement of goods and people in both directions through the Lachin Corridor, was emphasized,” the ministry added.
