Artak Beglaryan says he's 'free and safe'
Artak Beglaryan, Artsakh’s former state minister and ombudsman, says he is “free and safe” but continues to get many threats from Azerbaijan.
“Since many people are asking, let me state that I’m free/safe,” he said in a post on X on Thursday. “Though I continue to get many public/private hateful insults/threats, however, I have been never notified about Azerbaijani prosecution for which there is no basis.”
Beglaryan said he could not disclose his location for safety reasons.
Earlier on Wednesday, Artsakh’s former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan was abducted and arrested by Azerbaijani border guards as he attempted to leave Artsakh for Armenia. Azerbaijan’s State Security Service announced on Thursday that he had been charged with "financing terrorism, participating in the creation and operation of illegal armed groups and illegally crossing Azerbaijan's state border".
